Located in Bastrop, TX. Bronco II, red cloth seats, 5-speed manual, power windows and locks... And it’s for sale. The guy is asking $3500. No idea the running condition, but he owns a couple newer Mercedes SUVs as DDs, so this just sits. Looks clean enough, though there is some paint peeling in the drip channel.

I can’t afford it, but it any of y’all are interested, I can give you his info.

That brings back some memories. In the early 90's, one of my uncles has a bronco II, V6, 4x4, 5 speed. It was the fancy Eddie Bauer trim, so it had a tan cloth interior (with a “computer” that checked the lights on the truck and told you if any were burnt out) and was red with a tan lower stripe outside.

Yeah, that is clean as fuck. This Bronc isn’t even close to that condition.

I think the Bronco would just be fun to beat on. Maybe even stash and partially restore, once Ford releases the new Bronco and people start remember the old ones.

The Bronco is at least priced appropriately, IMO.

These are quite fun with a 302 under the hood. ;)

Ha! HA! HAHAHAHA! Don’t die, guys.

Stability problems with Bronco II were noted during the design phase in 1981, as well as in the verification tests. [1] For example, the J-turn test was canceled during the testing procedures by Ford officials “out of fear of killing or injuring one of its own drivers.” [4] Engineering modifications were suggested, but Ford officials declined the modifications because they would have delayed the marketing of the new vehicles. [4] Eight months before production began, Ford’s Office of General Counsel collected 113 documents concerning the new vehicle’s handling problems. [1] However, 53 of these test, simulation, and related reports about stability of the Bronco II “disappeared” in an “unusual document handling procedure” that forebode the lawsuits against Ford starting in the late-1980s.

Oh man, my first two vehicles were Bronco IIs, a manual 85 that wouldn’t start in the rain and an automatic 88 that exploded it’s transmission at 80k. The first one even had that fancy light-checking “computer” mentioned elsewhere.

The rear seats folded flat...

Close to NP territory there for clean rust free. My aged memory cells recalls having a fair amount of fun off road in my 85 5speed bronco2.
